Call for Abstracts - Closed

Please note the Call for Abstracts closed in May 2016 and no more abstract submissions will be accepted.

Some important items to know before you proceed with your submission:

The World Congress for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (WCPGHAN)  is now accepting abstracts for presentation at the World Congress to be held in Montreal on October 5-8, 2016. A $30.00 USD submission fee for each scientific abstract/clinical case report will be assessed. APGNN (The Association of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition Nurses) abstracts may be submitted at no charge. Scientific abstracts, clinical case reports and APGNN/Nursing abstracts will be competitively reviewed and presented as follows:

  • Scientific abstracts may be selected for oral or poster presentation.
  • Clinical case reports will be presented in poster format and will not be published.
  • APGNN/Nursing abstracts will be presented in poster format and will be published.

Abstracts that will be considered include: 

  • Original work that has never been presented.
  • Abstracts submitted to other scientific meetings (i.e., DDW, AASLD, ACG, CCFA, ANGM) in the last 12 months. 
  • Abstracts submitted to local/regional meetings in any calendar year. 
  • Abstracts describing work that has been submitted as a manuscript or accepted as a manuscript for publication at the time of submission, but not yet published in a print edition of a journal may be submitted. 
  • Small case series should only be submitted as clinical case reports. They will be rejected if submitted as scientific abstract.
  • One table may be submitted to support your abstract (Excel format)
  • Submission text (not including title) has a limit of 3,000 characters – including spaces. We suggest preparing your text in Word and use Word Count to ensure you do not exceed the 3,000 character limit.
  • * Once an abstract is submitted, no further changes or edits may be made so only submit your abstract when ready.

    Video Abstracts

    Outstanding video submissions will be featured during a new session at WCPGHAN called The World Cup of Endoscopy. The focus is on cutting-edge techniques and unusual cases in GI endoscopy. Accepted authors will present their video live and then have 1-2 minutes to answer questions.

    The World Cup of Endoscopy is designed to showcase interesting endoscopic cases or techniques in the field of gastrointestinal endoscopy. Programs can demonstrate accepted techniques, difficult or interesting cases, complications or innovations within the field of endoscopy. Program should focus on interesting and novel cases or techniques in the field of pediatric endoscopy. All entries must be oriented toward physician rather than patient education.

    Submissions should demonstrate an individual technique or case or series of cases and should be between 3- 5 minutes in length (it cannot exceed 5 minutes). Accepted videos will be narrated DURING the playing of the video. (Video played at WCPGHAN will not have sound).
